DESCRIPTION:
French swinger mystery clock, polychrome "Abeille", after sculptor J. Causse, with female fairy figure parading through tulips, supporting the extra long 28.5" clock and compound pendulum arm, spherical case with foliate and pineapple applique and dragon hands, applied Roman numerals containing the 8 days, time only movement, gridiron style assembly with ornamented foliate fall at bottom, all mounted on red marble base with J. Causse plaque
CONDITION:
the figure has been repainted with small areas of loss and some very minor oxidation. The ball is stripped of finish. The dragon hands are wonderfully detailed and unique. This figure has great vitality, the swinging arm with dragon hands is one-of-a-kind and with a professional refinish this swinger would be extraordinary.
